Ecological Services

We provide a comprehensive range of ecological services right from Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), bat surveys and mitigation licensing for homeowners through to more detailed Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Environmental Action Plans (EAPs) and habitat management for larger development projects.

We can provide a full suite of protected species and habitat surveys, all undertaken by experienced surveyors. Below are a sample of the ecology services we offer.

We can explain what services are right for you and tell you more about our fees so please get in touch.

Ecological Appraisals

A Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA), also known as an ecological walkover survey, Extended Phase I Habitat Survey or baseline ecological survey, will form the first stage of your planning application.

Bat surveys

Excellent value bat surveys including bat scoping surveys and bat emergence/re-entry and activity surveys in support of planning applications.

Protected species surveys

Full suite of protected species surveys and reporting on offer to help you secure your planning permission.

Protected species mitigation licensing

Working in areas with a protected species can require a European Protected Species Mitigation Licence to allow the works to legally proceed.

Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA)

An essential part of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) that describes the potential effects of activities on ecological receptors.

BREEAM Ecology Assessments

We can help you maximise credits by assessing your site’s ecological value, providing advice on protection of important features and suggesting new features to boost your ecological value.

Environmental Action Plans

Environmental Action Plans (EAPs) are often required to satisfy planning conditions, for securing BREEAM credits or to implement licensed mitigation proposals.

Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW)

ECoWs are often required for larger construction projects to provide environmental or ecological advice during the construction phase.

Consultancy support & peer review

Third party peer review service for ecological reports, mitigation licence applications or any technical documents, along with local survey support for consultancies based outside the South East.
